How to play the only true CASPAR-card game?

General information:

What do you need to play the game?

  • Wi-Fi
  • At least 1 smartphone with the QRscanner app (App Store: search 'QR')
  • Dice or a Dice app (App Store: search 'Dice')

What kind of cards are in the game?

  • Question cards (39)
  • Assignment cards (8)
  • noise cards (5)
  • two blank cards (with a joker on the back)

The question cards are blue, purple or orange. Assignment or noise cards are yellow.

How many players can play this game?

You can play with a minimum of two teams of 4 players and a maximum of six teams with a number of players of your choice.

It can be useful to appoint an independent game leader but this is not essential.

Progress of the game:

How do you start?

Pile all the cards in the middle, with the QR codes upwards. Choose a team to play first.

What is the game's goal?

To collect as many CASPAR-cards as possible. Each card is worth one point. If there are cards from all the colours in your collection, then you can double your points at the end of the game.

How does the game continue?

The first team takes a card from the pile and passes it to the team to their right. They read out the question.

If the card picked up is blue, purple or orange, you have a question card.

You can throw the dice.

If you have thrown a 1 or 2, you get an 'easy' question.

If you have thrown a 3 or 4, you get a 'medium' question.

If you have thrown a 5 or 6, you get a 'hard' question.

The reader can unlock the questions by scanning the QR-code. If you have answered the question correctly, you can keep the card. If your answer was wrong, you have to put the card back at the bottom of the pile.

If the card is yellow, you have picked an assignment or noise card.

When you scan the QR-code, you will find out whether you have picked an assignment or noise card.

The assignment on an assignment card must be carried out by all teams. After reading out the tip on the assignment card, each team selects its representatives, who will carry out the assignment. Each team then puts in the number of CASPAR-cards they choose. (The maximum is all the cards you hold).

If you don't have any CASPAR-cards yet or perhaps don't want to put in any cards, then you can only play for the assignment card that has been read out.

If you put in cards, and have won the assignment, then you can freely choose exactly the same number of cards as you put in from the open hands of the other players.

If you lose, you don't lose any cards that you may have put in. Yet, the winning team can choose cards from your open hand, even if you did not put any cards in.

Have you got a noise card? Then you can simply keep it. This will be good or bad luck for you, depending on the situation presented on the noise card.

When is the game finished?

The game ends when there are no cards in the pile in the middle or when the game leader decides that the game is over. Each team counts their CASPAR-cards. Each card is worth one point. Don't forget that you can double your score if you have collected cards of all four colours. The team with the most points wins the game.
